LIBRARY

The Library has evolved into a complete library system with adequate physical and on-line resources to facilitate the teaching-learning and research activities of the college. In keeping with its vision of enabling seamless access to quality knowledge and information resources in diverse formats, the library has created open access library facilities and easily accessible online resources. Additionally, the library is in the process of establishing online access with other information and knowledge portals.

Some of the innovative initiatives of the University Library are as follows:

  1. Library organizes exhibitions and displays on important occasions and programs celebrated and conducted by the university. e.g. displays are organized on Foundation Day, Women’s Day etc
  2. Library also arranges exhibition and sale of books in which various booksellers exhibit the recent publications. This helps in promoting reading and book culture.
  3. Library is partially automated with the help of SLIM software.

How to Access N-List E-Journals

  1. Registration: Students, faculty, and staff of Rahul College of Education need to register for N-List access through the library.

Library Rules and Regulations :

The library at Rahul College of Education is dedicated to providing a conducive environment for study and research. To ensure the effective use of resources and maintain an atmosphere of respect and academic integrity, the following rules and regulations must be observed by all library users.

General Rules

  1. Library Hours:
    • The library is open from 9.00am to 5.00pm on weekdays, and from 9.00am to 2.00pm on Saturdays.
    • The library is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
  1. Library Membership:
    • Membership is open to all students, faculty, and staff of Rahul College of Education.
    • External members may be granted access with special permission from the library administration.
  1. Library Card:
    • A valid library card or institutional ID must be presented to borrow materials or access certain services.
    • Library cards are non-transferable and must be used only by the person to whom they are issued.

Borrowing Rules

  1. Loan Periods:
    • Students: 02 books for 07 days.
    • Faculty: 05 books for 14 days.
    • Staff: 02 books for 14 days.
  1. Renewals:
    • Books may be renewed once for an additional loan period unless reserved by another user.
    • Renewals can be done online via the WebOPAC or in person at the library desk.
  1. Reservations:
    • Users may reserve books that are currently on loan.
  1. Overdue Fines:
    • Fines for overdue books are 05 per day per book.
    • Borrowing privileges may be suspended until overdue books are returned and fines are paid.

Usage Rules

  1. Silence:
    • Silence must be maintained at all times in the library. Group discussions should be conducted in designated areas.
  1. Mobile Phones:
    • Mobile phones must be switched to silent mode. Phone calls should be made outside the library premises.
  1. Personal Belongings:
    • Personal belongings should be kept in the designated storage area. The library is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
  1. Food and Drink:
    • Food and drinks are not allowed inside the library. Water bottles are permitted.
  1. Computer and Internet Use:
    • Computers are available for academic use only. Users must adhere to the acceptable use policy and refrain from accessing inappropriate content.

Conduct and Ethics
