DIPLOMA IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION
Overview D.El.Ed.
The Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed) is a two-year diploma programme that is divided into four semesters. Exams for the course are held at the end of each semester. The course is aimed to educate teachers and prepare them to teach at the primary level. The course’s major goal is to educate teachers with theoretical knowledge and basic skill development in order to deliver effective teaching practises and new classroom trends. Candidates can pursue a career as an elementary school teacher after completing an elementary education diploma course.Passing the 12th grade from a recognised board or school is the minimal requirement for pursuing a diploma in elementary education. Admission to the course is based on the student’s performance in the 12th grade exam as well as an entrance exam.

This two year D.El.Ed. course has been designed to promote innovation through specialized pedagogies (Single, Dual)Skill enhancement outreach activities, mentoring, application-based research, intensive internship for creating 21st century educators and teachers. Following is an overview of courses offered through 4 semesters. Along with compulsory components, there are add on certificate programmes which make our B.Ed course distinctive and unique in its way.
- A student teacher may choose a Single or Dual from the following school subjects as specialization:
- English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujrarti, Science, Mathematics, Economics, Commerce & History
- A single specialisation would lead to specialization in a particular school/college subject wherein the student would benefit by doing a comprehensive study of subject knowledge in detail across the various school/ college levels as well as be trained for pedagogy.
- A dual specialisation would lead to specialization in selected 2 school subjects. The student would be studying the subject in detail across school levels in a single paper along with 2 pedagogy papers.
